Industry Insights and Tips for Authors

A private Book Review Club that provides Authors with visibility & credibility by providing thoughtful Amazon, Audible, Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo reviews submitted by other authors with like-minded goals.
Earning more reviews for your book will help it stand out on Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo. When potential book purchasers see high-quality reviews, it greatly increases your conversion rate. It’s as simple as that!
With Get Books Reviewed
We do monitor every book that is submitted, and it must go through a review process mainly to be sure that what is being submitted is consistent with what is being offered on Amazon. If anything is offensive, discriminatory, highly erotic, or highly controversial, it may be rejected.
If the content appears to have a large percentage of AI content, it might be rejected as well. This site was created for authors to showcase their original literary work, and we reserve the right to reject any book we feel does not meet that criteria.
If you are not sure if your book qualifies, feel free to contact support first to have it vetted.
Multiple people can participate in the review process at the same time, but only one copy of your book can be in the library at a time.
You will receive an email as soon as your book gets checked out for review. At that time, you can publish your book in the library again, provided you have enough tokens to do so. You can also set up auto-republish, which will keep your book in the library 24/7 and increase the number of people actively reviewing it at one time.
Get Books Reviewed is a private Book Review Club that provides Authors with visibility and credibility by facilitating thoughtful Amazon, Audible, Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo reviews submitted by other authors with like-minded goals.
It's a supportive private community of authors who understand your challenges. Our members are dedicated to providing and receiving high-quality reviews for deserving books. With a monthly or yearly membership, you'll gain access to a network of like-minded writers eager to support your exceptional work.
Our club is for authors who want to receive ethical and honest reviews for their books while complying with Amazon Community Guidelines. Authors with high-caliber, copyedited, and proofread books get great reviews from other authors in our network.
This membership community gives you the opportunity to discover and read a large variety of interesting books by like-minded authors desiring book reviews. All books are published into a central library, separated by category.
In general, if Amazon accepts your book, we will too! If anything is offensive or highly controversial, it may be rejected. If the content appears to have a large percentage of AI content, it might be rejected as well. Tokens are the currency of Get Books Reviewed. You earn tokens by reading and reviewing other authors' books, then use those tokens to list your own books in the community library for review.
How to spend tokens:
Your first book is free to list after you leave one confirmed review for another author.
No! Our system is completely different from review swapping. With review swapping, authors directly review each other's books, often with an expectation of a reciprocal review, which is clearly against Amazon's Community Guidelines.
Our algorithm is specifically designed to prevent this. When you review books by other authors in our system, they will never be offered your books to review in return.
For example, if you reviewed one of my books through our platform, our system would ensure that I would not even see any of your books in the library. This completely eliminates any possibility — even unintentional — of a review swap.
Furthermore, there is no direct interaction between authors on our platform, and reviewers remain entirely anonymous. This built-in separation and anonymity remove any potential for bias.
No, we cannot guarantee how someone will rate your book. This site was created as a tool for authors to help one another with reviews, but we cannot control how someone reviews your book.
We ask that every reviewer be respectful, honest, and genuine in their public review of your book, and also in their private review in the portal. If you are submitting a well-written, edited, well-thought-out book, you should have no worries about the kind of feedback you will receive from this group of like-minded authors.
You are not "locked in" when you choose a book to review. If you start a book and it's not a good fit for you, you can cancel the review and choose another book you are thrilled to read and review.
Remember, we are a community created to help one another with honest, thoughtful reviews.
Sorry, no guarantees. This is simply a service wherein we provide the opportunity for you to make your book(s) visible to those who may like to read and review them. Your activity has a lot to do with how many reviews you will earn. You have to actively participate in the review process — reviewing other authors' books yourself if you want to get reviews for your book(s).
Your book needs to have a compelling cover and description to entice reviewers to check it out.
Your book genre and target audience affects how many reviews you may get. For example, a mystery novel may attract a lot more potential reviewers, vs. an instructional book on how to get your class-A driver's license in Virginia, which has a very small target audience.
It is at the discretion of our author/reviewers which books they select to review. We do have a bonus system that allows you to assign some of your extra tokens to your book to entice reviewers to select your book over another book in the same category. Other than that, the process is completely organic and up to the reviewer as to which books get the most reviews.
It depends on how quickly your book gets picked up for a review. Then, it depends on each author, but we set a deadline of 3-13 days to review a book once it has been checked out of the library, with an option to add a three-day extension if needed. Most reviewers take less time than that. Longer books will take longer to read and review than shorter ones.
You can only review a maximum of two books at a time and only six books per 7-day rolling period to give everyone a chance. No hoarding of books!
Sometimes, reviews submitted to Amazon appear right away. Others may take up to 13 days to post.
Each reader, after completing a book, will post it on their dashboard, then go directly to their digital orders page on Amazon, select that book, and post their review on Amazon. Once the review has been approved by Amazon, it will be posted on the appropriate product listing page along with all the other reviews.
In addition to earning reviews on Amazon, you can also request reviews be left on Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo.
We always validate that the reviews have been posted. This may take several days as Amazon's approval is usually not automatic. Once we see that it has been posted, we will verify it on the author's dashboard.
If after 5 days, we have not been able to validate that the review has been posted, you will be notified to please resubmit or cancel the assignment if you have not been able to post the review.
That depends. If the reviewer has to purchase the Paper, Audio CD, or Kindle version of your book, then the reviews will be labeled as Verified Purchase on Amazon. It will require more tokens to have your book reviewed if a purchase is involved, and the number of extra tokens you will need will depend on the actual cost of your book. The reviewer will receive more tokens for purchasing a book, and those can then be used to qualify their own book(s) to be reviewed.
In order for purchased books to register as a "verified" purchase review, the review must be posted from one's digital orders page and not on the product page. That way, the review is linked to your orders, and Amazon knows that you have purchased the book.
If your book is enrolled in the Kindle Unlimited program, and you choose for your book to be downloaded as "Kindle Unlimited," and they do not register as a verified review, but the author will get credit and a "payout" by Amazon for the pages read.
If your eBook is expensive, you can choose to have it downloaded as a .pdf or .epub. Also, if you are offering your download as KU, you might want to consider also offering a .pdf download for those who are not enrolled in KU to increase your readership.
In addition to Amazon, you can also request reviews on Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo.

Both the Standard and Premium subscriptions offer the same core functionality, but the Premium subscription provides additional benefits for earning tokens.
Premium members have exclusive access to earn bonus tokens when authors promote their books. Standard members do not have access to these bonus tokens.
Premium members earn 75% of the tokens earned by their friends and family network, while Standard members only earn 50% of the tokens earned by their network.
In summary, the Premium plan offers greater token-earning potential through the Friends & Family Network and author promotions, which can easily double your token-earning potential.
We offer 30 days for you to try the site out for free to see if it is a good fit for you. If you have not cancelled before your 30-day trial ends, your subscription will renew each month (or year, if that is what you signed up for) until you decide to cancel.
Once you leave one confirmed review for another author on Amazon, we'll gift you enough tokens to publish your book and earn your first review. If you cancel, you will lose access to our platform, but you will keep any reviews you have received during that time. You can rejoin at any time on a paid subscription and use your tokens, but you can only use the free trial once.
You can cancel your subscription from your My Subscriptions page here on this website or reach out to our support team to cancel for you.
Once you cancel your subscription, you will still have access to the site until the trial period or the subscription term you have paid for is completed. After your subscription expires, you will not be charged, and you will not have access to the members' area.
We save your tokens so you can come back anytime and start a new subscription.
We accept PayPal or credit card payments. You will not be charged until the 30-day trial period is over, then you will automatically be charged according to your plan until you cancel your subscription.
There is a membership fee. You can pay monthly or choose annually for a large discount. You will not be charged until the free trial period is over.
Both plans include: features to ensure Amazon compliance, no charge or fee for book reviews, individual/customized customer support, cancel anytime with two clicks, and free tokens to earn your first review.
Just select a standard or premium subscription and your term preference (monthly or yearly) and click the "FREE Trial" button. You can list your first book for free after you've left one confirmed review for another author.
You will be walked through the process step by step. You will have your own dashboard where you can import your book and add the info we request for each book to help readers in their selection and review process. There, you will also be able to keep track of the books you have read, the reviews you have received, and your balance of tokens as they accumulate and are used based on your activity.
Amazon's Community Guidelines prohibit friends and family from directly reviewing your book. This can be a major hurdle since they are often your biggest supporters.
The good news is that our Friends & Family Network provides a clever solution. Instead of having them review your book, they review other authors' books, and you earn a percentage of the tokens they collect.
This isn't just a favor, it's a genuine opportunity for them:
Premium members earn 75% of the tokens earned by their friends and family network, while Standard members earn 50%.
Other authors will have limited information — just as much as they need to access your books. This is a private, membership-only group.
No one outside the members' area will have access to any information within the members' area, and your profile or books will have no public listing that can be crawled, linked, or searched by Amazon, Google, or any other search engine.
Your reviews are anonymous. There is no interaction between members. A reviewer can leave private feedback about a book they read in the private review area, but this is "one-way" communication through the site portal. We have done everything we can to remove any possible bias.
Yes, we are welcoming international authors to join our network. You will be posting reviews to your version of Amazon, but if you have an Amazon.com account in addition to your local Amazon version, then you can post reviews to the US market, which currently has the largest number of books to review.
For your book, you can request reviews only from your version of Amazon, or you can select to receive reviews from any other version of Amazon. Verified Purchase reviews (Kindle or Paperback Purchases) will show up on your version of Amazon in the "Reviews from other countries" area, whereas the other review options will only show up on the reviewer's version of Amazon.
